Anthem's Strategic Accounts team is looking for an Account Management Executive Consultant with a proven track-record in client retention, broker & consultant relations and the ability to cross-sell/upsell to join its team. This high-performing individual contributor will be responsible for managing a book of Public and Private sector accounts in the CA Strategic Accounts market. Typical group size is 5,000 eligible or enrolled subscribers. Our ideal candidate is client focused, has a strong executive presence, strategic focus and technical underwriting background with large groups including self-funded experience.

How you will make an impact:

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Defines and oversees the execution of account management and retention strategy for a defined book of accounts.
  • Identifies opportunities for penetration sales.
  • Responsible for growing Specialty Business within existing accounts.
  • Develops business relationships with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers in order to meet or exceed new and renewal sales targets.
  • Manages the annual renewal process for accounts, including underwriting negotiation, preparation of renewal analysis, and client presentations.
  • Coordinates and controls new business implementation activities.
  • Trains/mentors lower level Account Management staff.
  • Identifies competitive situations within assigned accounts or group market, analyzes information, and develops proposals and execution plans to management.
  • Works directly with Sales Account Representatives / Account Service Representatives to assure that all aspects of account service run smoothly.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 7 years of experience in account management or sales; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties.
  • Experience working with Public Sector groups including active and retiree populations.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues in a fast paced and high demand environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams and Salesforce.
