Account Manager

Description:

Real Chemistry is looking for an Account Manager, Advocacy & Patient Engagement to join our growing team!

This client-facing role is ideal for a highly organized healthcare communications professional who is ready to help deliver meaningful advocacy and patient engagement programs across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and health technology clients. The Account Manager will support the development and execution of integrated advocacy programs, manage day-to-day client and stakeholder activity, contribute to high-quality materials and scopes, and help ensure work is delivered on time, on budget and to Real Chemistry standards.

The Account Manager ensures delivery excellence by keeping work streams moving forward smoothly, maintaining clear action items, timelines, risk management, and quality control processes. Success also requires establishing credibility in advocacy and patient engagement by supporting programs that reflect authentic, ethical, and practical approaches to patient and advocacy partnerships. From a commercial perspective, the Account Manager actively manages budgets, scopes, invoices, purchase orders, and resourcing considerations, proactively identifying and addressing issues before they become challenges. The role also contributes significantly to team effectiveness by supporting and developing junior colleagues, providing visibility to senior leaders, and fostering alignment across cross-functional teams.

This role can be remote within the United States or based in any of our U.S. office locations, including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Lambertville, NJ, San Francisco, or Carmel, IN.

Contribute to authentic, ethical and compliant engagement with patient advocacy organizations, coalitions and community leaders.
Help design and deliver patient-centric programs, including education, awareness, policy engagement, advisory boards, summits, co-creation sessions, and community-based initiatives.

Run client calls and meetings independently when appropriate, including preparing agendas, capturing clear contact reports and driving follow-up actions.
Gather, interpret and address client feedback across deliverables, escalating risks or sensitivities as needed.
Communicate project updates, scopes, recommendations and next steps clearly to clients and internal teams.

Project Execution & Operations

Drive flawless and timely project execution in partnership with account, project management, creative, digital, analytics, policy and communications teams.
Document status, risks, decisions and need-to-know information so all stakeholders remain aligned and work progresses along the critical path.
Manage timelines, quality control, resourcing inputs and work-flow across day-to-day program activity.
Support account development, fiscal performance and responsible growth by tracking budgets, raising invoices and purchase orders, and flagging budget considerations early.
Ensure programs are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to Real Chemistry standards.

Content, Materials & New Business Support

Develop strong first drafts of scopes of work, contracts, presentations, creative briefs, discussion guides, PR and marketing materials, and internal or external communications.
Translate advocacy, patient and stakeholder insights into practical materials that support client decision-making and program delivery.
Participate in the development of client marketing, advocacy, engagement, and communications strategies and tactics.
Support new business development, pitches and proposals, particularly where patient, advocacy, policy or stakeholder engagement expertise is required.
Identify opportunities to evolve or expand client programs across advocacy, policy, communications, and engagement.

Team Contribution & People Development

Collaborate effectively with junior colleagues, peers and senior leaders, helping to create a high-performing team culture rooted in empathy, rigor and accountability.
