Description:
Prudential Financial, a leading global financial services institution, is seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist – Accounting Implementation to join its Accounting Implementation Solutions (AIS) team within the Finance Services Organization (FSO). This position plays a vital role in ensuring Prudential’s financial reporting excellence by implementing new accounting processes for reinsurance initiatives, contributing directly to the company’s growth, accuracy, and compliance standards.
As part of the Corporate Controllers Department and the CFO Organization, the role involves close collaboration with multiple departments including Actuarial, Finance, Operations, and Product Strategy teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, detail-oriented accounting professional who wants to work on complex financial systems, enhance process automation, and support strategic business objectives.
Implement and document new accounting systems for reinsurance and related financial transactions.
Develop Statutory (STAT) and GAAP accounting examples to support new business initiatives.
Partner with Operations to execute and test changes in the Table Maintenance System and sub-ledgers (PIPS).
Collaborate with technology teams to ensure accounting and reporting accuracy in administration systems.
Process and monitor proofs and controls for reinsurance accounting, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Support internal and external audit processes related to policyholder accounting.
Research and address accounting inquiries from Operations, Finance, and FSO teams.
Prepare documentation and reports supporting new business releases and accounting initiatives.
Handle ad hoc projects and work overtime when required to meet deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (mandatory).
3–4 years of experience in insurance accounting or financial reporting.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across teams.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with STAT and GAAP reporting and financial information systems.
Experience with Oracle ledger and PIPS sub-ledger systems.
Knowledge of reinsurance accounting principles.
