Accounting Manager

 

Description:

As an Accounting Manager, you will manage a team of 2-3 senior and staff accountants, overseeing accounting activities, financial reporting, compliance, and technical accounting research. This role requires leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to contribute to process improvement while ensuring adherence to accounting standards. You'll have the opportunity to refine your technical skills while playing a vital role in the company’s financial success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring journal entries and reconciliations are completed according to reporting standards.

  • Oversee expenses for operating equipment, financing equipment, and real estate leases.

  • Review reconciliations and roll-forwards of balance sheet accounts, addressing reconciling items promptly and identifying areas for process improvement.

  • Research technical guidance for complex transactions to ensure accurate accounting treatment.

  • Collaborate closely with the accounting and treasury teams to manage finance processes.

  • Assist with the review of financial statement disclosures for SEC filings.

  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial models in coordination with the finance team.

  • Contribute to internal and external audits across reporting and compliance activities.

  • Develop and mentor a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, fostering their growth and career success.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or in-house accounting within a public or large organization.

  • Experience with monthly closings, reconciliations, and technical accounting is highly valued.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP or similar platforms preferred).

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply technical accounting standards effectively.

  • Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently while also excelling in team and leadership settings.


Work Arrangement:

In-office requirement: 3 days per week (subject to change).
