Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a high-performing Accounting Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting multiple entities across the Americas region. This fully remote role is responsible for leading critical components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
The Accounting Manager operates with a high level of autonomy and serves as a key liaison between business operations, Global Shared Services, Business Controlling, Treasury, IT, and external auditors. This position plays a pivotal role in post-merger integration, ERP alignment, internal control enhancement, and accounting process standardization within a complex, multi-entity manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting Leadership
- Lead assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close across multiple entities.
- Prepare and review complex journal entries, including revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, inventory, accruals, leases, and manufacturing-related accounting.
- Perform and review account reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation.
- Support and review financial reporting submissions through consolidation systems (e.g., OneStream or similar).
- Drive timely resolution of reconciling items and unusual variances.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies and standards.
- ASC606 experience
Internal Controls & SOX Compliance
- Assist in the development and enhancement of SOX controls, particularly for newly acquired entities.
- Own and execute key SOX controls, including documentation, testing support, and evidence retention.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to support audit requests, walkthroughs, and remediation efforts.
- Identify control gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and enhance process documentation and standard operating procedures.
ERP & Systems Integration
- Lead integration of legacy organizations into the Accounting CoE model, defining roles and collaborating with global stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions.
- Work across multiple ERP environments (e.g., JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Epicor, Syteline 9) to ensure accurate data flow and reporting integrity.
- Support system transitions, reporting alignment, and automation initiatives.
- Assist with mapping, reconciliation, and structural alignment across reporting platforms.
- Partner with IT and Finance to resolve data, system, or reporting inconsistencies.
Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance and operational teams to ensure accurate financial representation of business activity.
- Support balance sheet reviews with business stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve accounting issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship to junior staff and business partners.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in close and reporting processes and implement automation or standardization enhancements.
- Lead initiatives to improve reporting accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.
- Support special projects, including integration and transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Masters Degree or CPA is a plus
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a complex, multi-entity or manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in public company SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
- Experience supporting integrations, ERP transitions, or shared services environments preferred.
