Accounting Supervisor

Description:

A small but growing transportation company based on the Westside of Southern California is looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join their team. This role is an addition to staff to support the company’s growth both organically and through acquisitions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage accounting operations, focusing on revenue, accounts receivable, and related expenses

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

• Collaborate with the Controller to provide guidance and insights on financial reporting

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and stay informed on regulatory changes

• Design and monitor financial controls, assess their effectiveness, and implement improvements

• Analyze financial performance, interpret data, and provide insights on trends

• Perform variance analysis and understand revenue trends, accounts receivable, and bad debt allowance

• Design and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency while considering internal controls

• Lead or assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

• Assist with audits and financial reporting deliverables

• Foster a collaborative environment and provide strategic guidance to ensure team success

Education and Experience:

• A degree in Accounting or Finance is required

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience

• Strong customer service orientation, self-motivation, and collaboration skills

• Experience with period-end analysis and close activities

• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial trends, explain, and draw conclusions
