Description:

This position is responsible for providing general administrative support for the department leader(s), staff, students, and/or visitors at Palo Alto College, part of the Alamo Colleges District. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring smooth operations in the Biology department by handling administrative tasks and managing office activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Lead general administrative functions for department leadership, staff, students, and visitors.

  • Communication: Act as a liaison between department staff, students, and external parties, ensuring effective communication and smooth workflow.

  • Coordination: Manage scheduling, document preparation, and logistical support for departmental events or meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Associate's degree, or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the required degree.

    • At least 3 years of administrative or related experience.

  • Preferred Education and Experience:

    • 5+ years of administrative or related experience.

    • Supervisory experience.

    • Experience in a public or higher education institution.
