Description:
Houston Community College (HCC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide principal support within the office, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective handling of recurring procedures. The role includes managing semester course scheduling, tracking enrollment and personnel matters, and responding promptly to special projects, often under tight deadlines. The Administrative Assistant will serve as a primary point of contact for student and community inquiries, manage the supervisor’s calendar, and support the planning and implementation of dual credit recruitment, workshops, and other events. Additional duties include gathering hiring documentation for part-time faculty and staff, preparing course schedule spreadsheets, maintaining inventory and ordering office supplies, coordinating travel arrangements, filing departmental documents, and preparing various reports such as budget, payroll, and enrollment reports. The role also involves handling incoming calls, managing multiple phone lines, and distributing faxes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Minimum of 2 years progressive secretarial experience (required); 3 years preferred
Proficiency in MS Office programs and Information Management Systems
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions:
