Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Office of the Director Administrative Functions

  • Provides high-level support for the Office of the Director of Architecture.
  • Drafts internal and external correspondence; creates visual and written reports and presentations; processes confidential materials.
  • Manages calendar and schedule functions for the director and College.
  • Coordinates travel arrangements for director and college visitors.
  • Serves as a backup to the Office of the Dean for room and event reservations.
  • Maintains the physical office, receives and delivers mail and packages, monitors office phone, and tracks/orders supplies.
  • Tracks office budget and processes invoices, pro-card statements, and travel reports for director and office expenses.
  • Locates and provides Director and College-related resources to visitors, alumni, faculty and students.
  • Manages, in coordination with the Program Manager, the hiring of TAs, RAs, and FAs; approves TA, RA, and FA time as necessary.

Architecture Faculty Support

  • Supports a range of faculty activity under the direction of the Director.
  • Schedules faculty meetings; supports agenda development; captures and archives accurate meeting minutes.
  • Manages cases for tenure and promotion, including the compilation of materials for review, communication with external reviewers, and the coordination and recording of faculty votes.
  • Coordinates faculty searches, including scheduling committee meetings, interviews, and votes.
  • Coordinates the annual review of faculty and ensures that annual activity reports and tenure-track dossier updates are collected.
  • Manages onboarding of new faculty, including faculty visas for new and returning faculty.
  • Assists architecture faculty and staff to complete directives identified by the Office of the Director.
  • Manages faculty office assignments.
  • Manages faculty email distribution lists.

Architecture Events and Special Projects

  • Manages a range of special events and projects
  • Organizes fall and spring semester final reviews.
  • Plans and coordinates annual Student Awards for Excellence.
  • Supports the director in preparing materials for accreditation processes and program reviews.
  • Supports symposia, conferences, and meetings hosted by the College.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by the director.
