Description:

STORM Physicians PLLC is seeking highly skilled Flight Surgeons / Aerospace Medicine Physicians to provide operational medical support across various Air Education and Training Command (AETC) locations. This role offers the opportunity to be part of an elite pool of aerospace medicine providers who step in to fill critical manning gaps, directly contributing to U.S. Air Force readiness.

The position involves providing full-scope flight medicine care at multiple AETC medical treatment facilities, including Altus, Columbus, Goodfellow, Holloman, Joint Base San Antonio, Keesler, Laughlin, Luke, Maxwell, Sheppard, Vance, and other designated bases. Candidates can be based at any preferred AETC location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care in Flight & Operational Medicine Clinics (FOMC) and Base Operational Medicine Clinics (BOMC).

  • Manage aeromedical waivers, FAA medical exams, duty profiles, and medical evaluations.

  • Provide aeromedical risk assessments and deployment readiness reviews.

  • Support public health emergencies and occupational/environmental health issues.

  • Consult with the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine (ACS) on complex cases.

  • Oversee and implement AETC/SGP program policies and educational initiatives.

  • Ensure quality control of Flying Class physical waivers using AIMWTS.

  • Provide expertise for PRAP, Base Operational Medicine CONOPs, and AUoF programs.

  • Conduct MICT reviews and offer recommendations for Aerospace Medicine Enterprise (AME) programs.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board Certification (Aerospace Medicine Residency preferred).

  • Unrestricted U.S. Medical License in good standing (no adverse actions in past 10 years).

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in Aerospace Medicine operations.

  • At least 3 years of recent active-duty U.S. Military Flight Surgeon experience.

  • Proficiency in Flying Class physical standards, waiver processing, profiling, and Medical Evaluation Boards (MEBs).

  • Experience in public health, occupational medicine, and aeromedical assessments.

  • Familiarity with military medical regulations and systems including DAFI 48-101, DAFMAN 48-123, 48-149, 48-133, 36-2905, AIMWTS, ASIMS, Genesis, PEPP. Willingness to learn additional systems.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:30 (excluding federal holidays and non-duty days).

  • Rotational or temporary assignments may be required (efforts made to avoid weekend travel).
