Description:

Sun Valley Search, a specialist recruiting firm with 28 years of experience in engineered rotating equipment, is partnering with a leading pump aftermarket services company to hire an experienced Aftermarket Sales professional in the Greater Chicago Area. This role offers a fully remote working arrangement while covering accounts within the power industry and related markets.

The primary responsibility of the Account Manager – Aftermarket Sales is to drive revenue by expanding business with existing accounts and strategically developing new client relationships. The role focuses on selling a wide range of aftermarket services for highly engineered pumps, including:

  • Repairs and rerates

  • Upgrades and retrofits

  • Field service solutions

  • Spare parts and consumables

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow penetration within current accounts by identifying new opportunities.

  • Research and engage with new clients in target markets, particularly in the power industry.

  • Act as a consultative partner to customers, ensuring their aftermarket service needs are fully met.

  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to deliver tailored solutions.

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets through proactive account management and business development.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with engineered pumps and aftermarket sales.

  • Strong technical background in rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, seals, bearings, or couplings.

  • Engineering degree preferred, though relevant industry experience will be strongly considered.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals and driving new business.

  • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients.

  • A “hunter” mindset with strong initiative, persistence, and customer focus.
