Ai Engineer

Description:

Our client, a Major Hedge Fund, is looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to help design and deploy new applied ML and GenAI infrastructure from the ground up.

You’ll be working directly with a Senior Portfolio Manager building tools that directly influence core investment decision-making.

This is a greenfield opportunity to shape production systems from scratch, work closely with a domain expert, and iterate rapidly with live feedback.

Responsibilities

• Build pipelines that transform raw inputs into structured, queryable intelligence
• Develop and tune models for real-time usage, focusing on quality, latency, and feedback signals
• Prototype from the latest research and deploy efficient, observable, production-grade code
• Work across infrastructure, data, and compliance teams to ship secure and scalable systems

Requirements

• Experience writing and shipping production code in Python
• 2+ years of experience within GenAI
• Exposure to modern ML/AI techniques and tools, with a track record of experimentation within Finance
• Comfortable building systems end-to-end: ingestion, transformation, deployment, monitoring
• Strong communicator who thrives working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bonus: Background in search, Large Language Models, or distributed systems
