Ai Product Engineer

Description:

In this role, you'll work closely with Duolingo’s Math team to deeply integrate AI into the math curriculum — reimagining how learners interact with concepts like arithmetic, algebra, and word problems. You’ll have the opportunity to design and ship AI-powered experiences that make math more intuitive, engaging, and personalized. Reporting to the engineering lead (with potential for evolving reporting lines), you’ll join a small, high-leverage group helping define how AI enhances learning at Duolingo.

We're particularly interested if you've previously built production-level apps, enhancing them with advanced AI techniques, and if you're skilled in comprehensive system evaluations—using both automated tools and human feedback to ensure top-notch performance.

• Revamp the math session generator and integrate AI into the math curriculum to foster enhanced learning experiences.
• Develop and implement cutting-edge AI features into production-level applications.
• Conduct thorough system evaluations, leveraging both automated tools and human feedback, to guarantee superior product quality and performance.
• Optimize AI algorithms to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness
• Implement feature engineering to refine algorithm predictions and drive improved performance.
   

You have...
 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
• Experience building production-grade apps with LLMs
• Portfolio of projects demonstrating integration of AI into learning tools or platforms
