Key Job Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Global Electrical Engineering Manager and leading the regional electrical engineering team (consisting of both engineers and designers) across proposals and projects driven in the Americas region.
- Leading team recruitment and allocating suitable resources to support projects
- Staff development including setting of goals and objectives, development plans and support of their professional development
- Providing supervision and technical expertise to ensure delivery against time and quality constraints.
- Providing technical input to the ongoing development of Air Products electrical design standards
- Liaising with existing suppliers and outsourcing partners, seeking additional partners to give to AP and customer projects.
- Defining execution models for electrical engineering scope, supervising performance and developing improved processes where appropriate based on lessons learned.
Minimum Hiring Requirements
- An Electrical Engineering degree with a demonstrated ability in invent of electrical power systems within the process invent industry
- Proven experience in a supervisory position with budget responsibility
- Experience in staff development (previous team managerial experience would be a plus)
- Experience communicating with a team with varied strengths across multiple offices and locations
- Demonstrated understanding of large motors (induction and synchronous) in the range of 1-10MW. Experience with larger motors (10MW up) will be a plus.
- Experience in specification and procurement of low, medium and high voltage Switchgear, Power transformers and Power electronics (LCI's, VSD's and Thyristor Controllers)
- An ability to work with software packages for analysis of power systems (e.g. SKM Powertools or ETAP)
- Candidate must be self-motivated, able to drive results and accept a high degree of personal responsibility for results
