The company seeks a skilled Analytical Chemist for its Havre de Grace, MD site. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality and compliance through analytical testing, calibration, and process support across various laboratory functions. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and maintain calibration and verification procedures for analytical instruments such as FTIR, HPLC, DSC, GC, Titrator, Particle Size Analyzer, and SMART 5 Moisture Analyzer.

• Maintain detailed records for calibration, maintenance, and instrument performance.

• Coordinate with external vendors for instrument repair, replacement quotes, and service contracts.

• Support In-process, Final, and R&I Laboratories, including backup duties for analytical technicians and ensuring laboratory supplies are adequately stocked.

• Participate in plant investigations and provide analytical support as required.

• Manage purchasing of laboratory supplies and ensure cost-effective procurement.

• Assist with Non-Conformance and Customer Complaint investigations, preparing detailed reports and contributing to corrective actions.

• Develop and update raw material specifications, oversee shelf-life management, and collaborate with supplier quality teams when interacting with vendors.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience with exposure to analytical testing and instrumentation.

• Proficiency in project management and using Six Sigma or Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools.

• Strong knowledge of chemical and/or mechanical testing methods.

Preferred:

• BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

• Previous experience in aerospace chemicals, coatings, plastics, adhesives, or composites industries.

• Familiarity with working in a unionized environment.

• Monthly Salary: USD 7000 – USD 8833
