Description:
As an Android Developer at JPMorgan Chase and Co. in Columbus, you build and maintain native Android applications that customers rely on for banking. You own features from technical design through Play Store or enterprise release and remain accountable for stability, performance, and quality after release. The team works five days a week from Columbus and delivers in close partnership with product, design, and backend engineering. Strong production ownership and clean professional history are required.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain native Android applications primarily in Kotlin
- Apply modern Android architecture components, Jetpack libraries, and recommended patterns for navigation, state, and data
- Integrate with backend services, secure authentication, and analytics platforms
- Write unit, instrumentation, and UI tests and keep coverage high on critical user journeys
- Own the release path for the features you deliver, including staged rollout and post release monitoring
- Investigate production crashes, ANRs, and performance problems through to root cause and lasting fix
- Collaborate with design on visual and interaction fidelity and with product on scope and prioritization
- Contribute to shared Android libraries, coding standards, and the improvement of mobile delivery practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
Required Skills
- 10 or more years of applied native Android experience
- Strong Kotlin skill and production Jetpack experience
- Understanding of the Android application lifecycle, threading, and memory considerations
- Experience with networking, authentication, and secure local storage on Android
- Automated testing practice across unit and UI layers
- Experience shipping applications through Google Play or enterprise distribution
- Familiarity with CI/CD for mobile and with crash and performance monitoring
- Agile delivery experience inside a team that owns its mobile releases
- W2 only. US Citizen, Green Card, or TN authorization
- Ability to work onsite in Columbus, Ohio five days per week
