Android Developer

Chuwa America is currently seeking a talented Android Developer for a long-term hybrid contract position based in Sunnyvale, CA. This is a high-impact role that involves designing and developing feature-rich Android applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about mobile technology, has a strong command of modern Android development practices, and can work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform

• Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features

• Work with remote data via REST and JSON

• Maintain code quality through version control and testing

• Assist in app deployment and Play Store submissions

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience

• Proficient in Kotlin and/or Java

• Solid understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Material Design

• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and Firebase

• Familiarity with Room, Jetpack Libraries, and MVVM architecture

• Knowledge of version control systems like Git

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger)

• Familiarity with JUnit, Espresso, and other testing frameworks

• Experience with CI/CD tools and Agile methodologies

• Published at least one app in the Google Play Store

• Understanding of Google Play Store policies and release process
