Alumni Healthcare Staffing is seeking two Locum Tenens Anesthesiologists to join its team in Eureka, CA. This position is ideal for providers with strong experience in hospital-based anesthesiology and the flexibility to cover both weekday and weekend shifts, including nights. Providers must be willing to handle a mix of day, evening, and overnight schedules to support permanent staff and maintain seamless patient care.

Responsibilities include delivering high-quality anesthesia services in a hospital setting, covering both surgical and non-surgical cases, and being part of an on-call rotation. Candidates will begin with day shifts alongside other physicians to acclimate before being scheduled for night and weekend shifts. Call responsibilities include beeper call, with weekend shifts involving remote coverage as outlined below:

• Weekday shifts: 8–12 hours (varied, e.g., 7a–7p or 3p–11p).

• Weekend Day 1: 7a–7p (12-hour guarantee).

• Weekend Day 2: 7a–7a (24-hour call, 2nd call).

• Weekend Nights: 7a–7a (24-hour call, 3rd call during day, 1st call at night).

Requirements:

• Active California medical license (mandatory).

• California DEA preferred (permanent DEA ideal but not required).

• Minimum 2 years of current clinical hospital experience in Anesthesiology.

• Willingness to work nights and weekends is essential.

• Must explain any gaps greater than 3 months.

• Current surgical case logs must be submitted upon presentation.

Additional Information:

• Overtime applies after 12 hours and must be pre-approved by the medical director.

• Providers will be gradually introduced to night shifts after a few weeks of day coverage.

• Travel reimbursement policies:

  • Not reimbursed: mileage to/from departing airport, rideshare/taxi to/from home and airport.

  • Reimbursed: airport parking, pre-approved rental insurance, and rideshare/taxi from destination airport to lodging and to hospital/clinic.
