Description:
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to analyze, develop, implement, and support systems related to Interest Rate Derivatives (IRD) IT and Securitization — including interfaces to other platforms, end-user communities, and all aspects of systems operation. The candidate will act as a key liaison between technology and the business, supporting Front Office users while coordinating with the development team. This role requires both strong technical depth and solid domain knowledge of fixed income and derivatives products
Responsibilities:
- Provide application support and subject matter expertise for assigned IRD and Securitization systems, including after-hours coverage for nightly batch processes and non-business-hours operations
- Support Front Office users throughout their daily activity; serve as a reliable point of escalation for system and functional queries
- Deliver functional and technical solutions in response to user and management requests; design and develop systems tailored to specific business problems
- Conduct feasibility studies and systems design analyses; make recommendations on appropriate technical approaches
- Contribute to general architecture decisions — hardware, network, tools, and software
- Gather and formalize new requirements from business stakeholders; follow up on special management requests
- Analyze and coordinate with the development team; ensure alignment between NY needs and offshore delivery
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with business lines (FO, MO/Risk, BO) and third-party providers; mentor junior team members
- Support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities
Profile:
- Prior experience in application support within a capital markets or investment banking environment — ideally covering IRD, Fixed Income, or FX products (CDs, CPs, Bonds, Repo, Futures, Interest Rate Swaps, FX Spot/Forwards/Swaps, Derivatives)
- Hands-on proficiency with Summit and/or Orchestrade; solid command of Sybase DBMS and stored procedures
- Strong scripting and programming skills: Unix Shell (awk, sed), SQL, Perl, Python, and VBA/Excel
- Familiarity with electronic markets and trading infrastructure
- Comfortable coordinating across time zones and working in a cross-cultural NY/Paris environment
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously under time pressure
