DS Architects is looking for an experienced Architect/Architectural Project Manager to join our team! DS Architects is a small yet highly experienced architectural firm located in Clarkston Michigan with an emphasis on commercial architectural projects. The trust we have built with our clients is allowing us to gradually diversify our project-type portfolio to include governmental and residential work.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs to access roofs and go inside existing or under-construction buildings, recording the necessary field data to produce construction documents for concrete, masonry, steel, wood, and building enclosure elements and materials.
Descriptions of Responsibilities:
- Prepare complete, concise, and correct construction documents consisting of plans, elevations, sections, details, and notes.
- Prepare documents using information from existing drawings, data collected from field assessment activities, and rough sketches provided by others.
- Conduct field assessments to assist the team with field sketches, taking dimensions, etc.
- Collaborate with the project team to coordinate design solutions by applying standard design/drafting principles and theories to complete assignments.
- Incorporate client feedback and make revisions.
- Meet project deadlines and deliver a high-quality level of service.
- Prepare addenda and bulletins.
- Follow, develop, and maintain group drafting and CAD standards including layer names, drafting symbols line styles, drawing and window names, and file names for sheet layout.
- Attend weekly meetings with leadership to discuss projects, plans and schedule for the week ahead.
- Create specifications in Master Spec format.
- Coordinate with Designers, Architects, Engineers, and Project Managers to produce design drawings and project specifications.
- Interface with clients, have strong communication skills and ability to successfully facilitate meetings
- Ensure drawings comply with building regulations and architectural standards
- Work with client and engineering disciplines to define requirements in the preparation of design and construction documents and documenting desires of the clients.
- Monitor and track project hours and Profitability.
- Hire, direct, and manage sub consultants.
- Coordinate with team members and sub-consultants to ensure project delivery dates are met.
Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PHD degree in architecture and possesses and Architect’s license in the state of Michigan.
- 5 – 10 years’ experience with commercial architecture.
- Proficient in Auto CAD, Outlook, Word, Excel and familiar with Sketch Up, Revit, Photo Shop, and project management software.
