Description:

Farnsworth Group, a 135-year-old engineering, architecture, and surveying firm, is seeking an Architectural Intern for Summer 2026 in Chicago, IL. This internship provides a well-rounded AXP experience, allowing the intern to work on a range of projects in an energetic, collaborative team environment. Selected candidates will work with architects to draft and design educational, healthcare, and civic-related buildings, gaining hands-on experience in the architecture profession.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist architects with drafting and designing educational, healthcare, and civic-related projects.

• Develop 3D models and computer graphics using Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Photoshop.

• Collaborate with team members on design tasks and project development.

• Support hand drafting and rendering tasks as needed.

• Participate in project meetings and contribute to creative design solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited university.

• Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and other design tools.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Hand drafting and rendering skills are a plus.

• Valid Driver’s License.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $19 - $21 per hour (based on education, experience, and skills).

• Experience on a variety of projects in a supportive and collaborative environment.
