Art Director

 

Description:

The Associate Art Director will focus on executing technical production and collaborating with the creative team to ensure the successful execution of various art and design projects. They will assist in overseeing the technical aspects of the production process, ensuring that the creative vision is translated into high-quality deliverables across different mediums. The Associate Art Director will work closely with the Creative Director, project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to meet project goals and maintain a seamless production workflow. This hybrid position requires regular on-site attendance in our Brooklyn, NY creative studio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the creative team to translate the creative vision into tangible deliverables, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing the photo and content production process, including asset creation, file management, and version control.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources and maintain an organized and streamlined production workflow.
  • Work closely with designers to ensure the accurate implementation of design concepts across various platforms and mediums.
  • Provide guidance and support in executing complex design elements and maintaining consistency throughout the production process.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on all deliverables to ensure technical accuracy, visual integrity, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve any production-related issues, collaborating with relevant team members and stakeholders as necessary
  • Act as a liaison between the creative team (including designers, developers, copywriters, and project managers) and other stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and seamless coordination.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, technical specifications, and production guidelines. Generate reports as necessary to provide insights into production metrics, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, stylists, and other relevant professionals to ensure the successful creation of visual assets that align with the project's objectives and creative vision.
  • Take an active role in the post-production process, including image retouching, color correction, video editing, and other enhancements. Ensure that the final output meets quality standards and effectively communicates the intended message or brand identity.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to technical production.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as graphic design, visual arts, or a relevant technical discipline, preferred.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in an advertising agency, design studio, or in-house creative department.
  • Proficient knowledge of design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and other relevant production software.
  • Robust technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues effectively.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with web design, digital media, and multimedia production
