Description:
The Fine Arts Studio program currently provides classes that can be taught both virtually and in person. Our AmeriCorps Teaching Artists in Residence teach classes, facilitate open studios and provide other artistic opportunities all of which increase job readiness skills. We primarily provide art instruction in painting, drawing digital drawing, ceramics, textiles and mixed media. We also provide a select group of Members to serve on out exhibition team. Key functions of the team include exhibition development and curation, inventory, photo and video documentation, and promotion via traditional and social media platforms. Imagine Art is launching it's fourth year as an AmeriCorps site. We maintain two studio spaces within Austin. It is our hope that our Members will empower artists with disabilities to equally access arts opportunities alongside their non-disabled peers by teaching job readiness skills and providing a full spectrum of support including design, production, exhibition and micro-business opportunities.
Members will develop curriculum within their respective discipline and conduct classes and one on one service opportunities with our client artists. Utilizing our established performance measures, the Teaching Artists in Residence will engage clients in learning and honing their skills in a variety art related tasks. Members will assist artists in developing a cohesive body of work and assist in preparing, pricing and curating work for exhibition. Members will also provide adjunct opportunities such as field trips, guest artist lectures and demonstrations and workshops.
