Assistant Controller

 

Description:

LHH is looking to fill an Assistant Controller position with a healthcare practice management company to help support the preparation of financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. Working under the Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in identifying and rectifying discrepancies while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems. The primary objective will be to ensure that the company’s accounting and financial processes meet established standards, promoting accurate financial reporting and effective control.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and variance analysis for private equity partner and lenders
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
  • Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
  • Oversight of Physician Compensation calculations and contract management to ensure provide contracts are consistent with the organization’s compensation model
  • Partners with Corporate Controller, Revenue Cycle Director, and Director of FP&A in revenue recognition variance explains.
  • Assists with the preparation of ad-hoc financial presentations and/or analysis to be used by Senior Management, private equity partners and Board of Directors, as directed
  • Provide supervision and guidance to a team of analysts within the accounting team
  • Evaluate the effects of new accounting principles on current processes and policies and work with the Corporate Controller on implementation.
  • Adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities
  • Other accounting/financial analysis projects, as required.
  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field required
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
  • Five plus years’ experience in Accounting required
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Excellent Excel skills required
  • CPA or CMA highly desirable
  • Healthcare experience is required
  • Experience working with NAV Dynamics highly desirable
  • Public Accounting experience highly desirable
