Description:

EY is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director – Inbound Security Assessment & Auditor Response Specialist to join its Information Security (Info Sec) – Client Assurance team in Austin, TX. This full-time, on-site role focuses on supporting client and regulatory requests related to EY’s global information security governance and data protection practices.

The successful candidate will assist client-facing engagement teams in responding to security-related inquiries about EY’s systems, particularly around cloud and traditional technology platforms. The role also involves direct engagement with auditors and regulators, addressing compliance, governance, and cybersecurity concerns.

This position requires an excellent command of the English language in both verbal and written communication, with strong stakeholder management, negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, ITIL). It is not a hands-on technical position but rather focused on governance, risk, compliance, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support EY teams in responding to client and regulatory information security assessments

  • Participate in reviews of client contractual security terms

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on EY’s global information security practices

  • Lead initiatives to improve client assurance processes and documentation

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while handling multiple requests

  • Interface with clients and regulators, ensuring clear and professional communication

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with client or supplier information security assessments or audits

  • Strong knowledge of global cybersecurity and data privacy regulations

  • Experience with frameworks such as ISO 27001/27002, NIST, ITIL, COBIT

  • Knowledge of cloud security and identity federation concepts

  • Ability to translate security practices into business language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CISM, or CISA

  • Background in highly regulated industries like financial services
