The Assistant Director of Nursing will play a vital leadership role in overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and supporting the Director of Nursing in all administrative and clinical functions. This position requires a dynamic and proactive healthcare professional with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills who can manage teams effectively while maintaining compliance with state and facility guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations and ensuring continuity of patient care.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff in a correctional healthcare setting.

  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations, facility policies, and accreditation standards.

  • Support in recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of nursing staff.

  • Actively monitor patient care delivery, clinical outcomes, and implement quality improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as a resource for staff education and professional development.

  • Collaborate with physicians, correctional facility administrators, and other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and ensure adherence to organizational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Active and valid RN license in Arizona (mandatory).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Prior administrative and management experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

  • Current CPR certification required.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs in correctional healthcare.
