Tommy Bahama, an island-inspired lifestyle brand, is seeking a passionate and driven Assistant Manager for its Boston, MA location. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role that requires a balance of retail expertise, team development, and an unwavering commitment to guest service. The Assistant Manager will serve as a key figure in creating a welcoming store environment, executing strategic goals, and inspiring their team to deliver the brand’s signature relaxed shopping experience.
As a brand ambassador and leader, you will be expected to motivate your team, support the Store Manager in daily operations, and deliver a high standard of sales and service. You'll cultivate a vibrant culture centered around customer satisfaction, efficient processes, and team growth while upholding Tommy Bahama’s distinct values and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the Store Manager to lead the retail team in creating a relaxed, guest-centric environment.
Build lasting relationships with customers, demonstrating core sales and service behaviors to ensure exceptional experiences.
Drive sales and meet store goals through strategic planning, execution, and thorough analysis of business data.
Implement and manage visual merchandising standards that align with brand presentation.
Support staffing needs by participating in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring retail team members.
Promote a learning culture and foster internal growth by coaching team members for performance and development.
Adapt quickly to business needs and proactively identify opportunities for improvement in store operations.
Participate in store maintenance tasks including lifting merchandise (up to 50 lbs), climbing ladders, and extended standing periods.
Maintain flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of retail experience, including 2+ years of supervisory/team management roles.
Familiarity with merchandising strategies and visual display standards in retail environments.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze sales reports and initiate action plans based on data.
A degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining a positive and motivating atmosphere.
