Description:

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiologist specializing in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and/or Cardiac Amyloidosis to join the Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) as an Assistant Professor within the Division of Cardiology. This position combines clinical practice, research, education, and potential administrative responsibilities in one of the nation's leading cardiovascular care and research institutions.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized care to patients with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and/or Cardiac Amyloidosis.

  • Participate in general cardiology service call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

  • Deliver high-quality patient-centered care aligned with the mission of KCVI.

Research Responsibilities:

  • Engage in clinical, translational, or basic science research.

  • Develop and pursue research programs with opportunities for start-up support and ongoing institutional resources.

  • Provide a summary of current research interests, scholarly activities, and funding history during the application process.

Educational Responsibilities:

  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical settings and through scheduled lectures.

  • Participate in the academic development of future cardiologists in collaboration with the Director of Education, Division of Cardiology.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Participate in institutional committees and other administrative duties based on expertise and interest.


Required Qualifications:

  • MD/DO degree and eligibility for Oregon medical licensure.

  • Active DEA license with prescriptive privileges.

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Cardiology or closely related specialty.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience practicing in an academic health facility.

  • Expertise in managing hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiac amyloidosis patients.

  • Strong teaching and mentoring skills.

  • Research aptitude with ability to secure and manage grants/funding.
