Description:

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a Family Medicine Physician (Assistant Professor) to join their South Hillsboro clinic, part of the Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC). This role is integral to the OHSU School of Medicine’s Family Medicine Department, which is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, teaching, and research.

As an Assistant Professor, the appointee will provide comprehensive family medicine care that spans all stages of life—from maternity care to geriatrics—while contributing to OHSU’s mission of advancing education, clinical excellence, and community service. The position offers the opportunity to participate in clinical practice, academic teaching, and research, with a strong focus on providing patient-centered healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver full-spectrum family medicine care, including preventive, primary, and specialty services.

  • Provide obstetrical (OB) care (strongly preferred but not mandatory).

  • Collaborate with part-time and full-time faculty to sustain an active clinical practice.

  • Participate in teaching activities, including resident and student precepting, lectures, and didactic sessions.

  • Conduct patient consultations for eight half-days weekly, with two half-days allocated for administrative or scholarly duties.

  • Maintain complete and accurate electronic health record documentation in accordance with OHSU standards.

  • Contribute to inpatient care (if mutually agreed), including call coverage as part of the faculty inpatient call group.

  • Support the practice’s growth as a vibrant academic and clinical hub, ensuring professional and business success.

  • Participate in expanded access hours (evenings/weekends) as part of call rotation.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and research or scholarship activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree with completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.

  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon.

  • Capable of providing comprehensive primary care services.

  • Certified to prescribe all DEA-approved medications.

  • Approved staff privileges at OHSU University Hospital, OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center, and affiliated community hospitals.

  • Preferred: OB/maternity training, including high-risk management, obstetric surgery, ultrasound, colposcopy, D&C, vasectomies, and family planning.

  • Multilingual ability is an asset but not required.
