Gordon Contractors, Inc., a reputed name in the construction industry serving the DMV area, is actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support its growing portfolio of high-profile construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with a senior Project Manager to gain exposure to all facets of project lifecycle management, from initiation to completion. The position is designed as a stepping stone to a full-fledged project management role within 1 to 3 years, depending on performance. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on some of the most visible construction projects in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, gaining deep insights into real-world execution, stakeholder coordination, cost tracking, and document management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, manage, and maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure compliance and accessibility.

  • Prepare and submit product submittals for approval by relevant stakeholders and design teams.

  • Draft and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) to resolve discrepancies or gather additional details from architects, engineers, or other consultants.

  • Analyze design changes to evaluate their cost implications and ensure budget compliance.

  • Monitor and track project costs, including forecasting the remaining budget requirements to support accurate financial reporting.

  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with all stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of progress, milestones, and potential challenges.

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; candidates with degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields will be given preference.

  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills are key to success in this role.
