Assistant Store Manager

Description:

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, enhancing customer service, maintaining store appearance, and managing store operations. This leadership role requires the ability to manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and to lead the store team in delivering excellent service to both retail and professional customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service.

• Supervise customer service levels and ensure team execution of customer service programs (e.g., Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call).

• Assist the Store Manager in staffing the retail sales counter during peak hours.

• Help set team member goals, provide feedback, coach and mentor team members, and ensure ongoing training compliance.

• Participate in hiring by conducting recruiting tasks, interviews, candidate evaluation, and collaborating on hiring decisions.

• Ensure telephone calls are answered per company policy.

• Manage buy online/ship to store orders, transfers, and DC add orders efficiently.

• Use electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders.

• Process retail customer returns, exchanges, and refunds efficiently and courteously.

• Verify that all merchandise, including warranties and core charges, are invoiced before leaving the store.

• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.

• Ensure team members comply with company policies, work schedules, and timekeeping.

• Perform store opening and closing duties, including cash handling, securing the premises, and ensuring all security measures are followed.

• Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, hardware, and delivery vehicles.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

Required:

• Sales Specialist Training

• Assistant Manager Certification

• RSS (Retail Sales Specialist) Certification

Desired:

• Certified Parts Professional Certification

• ASE Certification

• Fluency in multiple languages, Spanish highly preferred
