Description:

Lids, the largest licensed sports retailer in North America, is hiring a Part-Time Assistant Store Manager to support its retail operations at the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown, NY. With over 1,200 stores globally and iconic brand partnerships like Marvel, Nike, and New Era, Lids is expanding rapidly and looking for retail professionals who are passionate about sports and fashion.

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for generating sales, supporting team development, and maintaining store operations. The role emphasizes customer service, visual merchandising, expense control, staff supervision, and compliance with company policies. You will work closely with the Store Manager to drive business performance and lead a team of associates in achieving sales and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering sales results by providing excellent customer service

  • Appraising and mentoring associates on sales performance

  • Maintaining proper merchandising, signage, and cleanliness standards

  • Controlling store expenses and ensuring accurate inventory management

  • Opening and closing the store as per operational guidelines

  • Training, supervising, and motivating store associates

  • Ensuring store policies and procedures are followed, including asset protection

  • Participating in company training programs and implementing best practices

  • Performing subordinate duties as needed and handling communications across levels

  • Additional tasks as assigned by the Store Manager

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in retail or supervisory role

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised

  • Proficient in computer operations and retail software

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overhead on ladders

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven ability to drive sales and reduce loss

  • Experience in visual merchandising and staff development

  • Strong attention to detail and task execution

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay range: $29536–$60405 annually, depending on experience

  • Monthly sales bonuses available

  • 40% employee discount on merchandise

  • Eligibility for performance-based incentives
