Assistant Store Manager

Description:

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, customer service, sales, and team leadership. The Assistant Store Manager will lead the store during the Store Manager’s absence and assist in coaching, mentoring, and managing staff. This role ensures the store maintains high standards in customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead store team members to deliver excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.

• Supervise and ensure execution of customer service programs (e.g., Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot).

• Ensure adequate staffing at retail counters during peak business hours.

• Assist Store Manager in setting goals, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating team members.

• Handle phone communications and process buy online/ship to store orders, outside purchases, returns, and exchanges efficiently.

• Ensure proper invoicing and merchandise handling, including core charges and warranties.

• Manage store opening/closing duties, including cash handling, security, and day-end procedures.

• Maintain store building, parking lot, signage, equipment, and delivery vehicles.

• Communicate and delegate tasks related to merchandising, Zipline messages, and Image Maker.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Qualifications:

• Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification.

• Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification, ASE Certification, fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly preferred).
