Associate Director

 

Description:

Pfizer is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Clinical Statistician at the Associate Director level to join its Rheumatology group under the Inflammation, Immunology & Specialty Care division. This is a pivotal role that involves providing expert statistical support for clinical and scientific research programs, as well as regulatory submissions and publications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in statistical methodologies, clinical trial design, regulatory compliance, and advanced statistical programming. This position requires a deep understanding of biostatistics, excellent communication abilities, and collaborative engagement across clinical, regulatory, and operational teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide statistical expertise in designing clinical trials, developing protocols, and writing statistical analysis plans

  • Lead statistical activities from data analysis to interpretation, reporting, and publication

  • Collaborate across cross-functional project teams (Clinical, Programming, Data Management, Regulatory, etc.)

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and Pfizer standards for all statistical deliverables

  • Contribute to regulatory submissions and address statistical queries from authorities

  • Present study findings in internal meetings, external forums, and scientific publications

  • Apply advanced methodologies, including modeling, meta-analysis, and exploratory data analytics

  • Mentor junior statisticians and uphold high standards for data integrity and statistical analysis


Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics with 4+ years, or Master’s with 8+ years of clinical trial experience

  • Proficient in R, SAS, or Python

  • Familiarity with reproducible research tools (e.g., R Markdown, Quarto, GitHub)

  • Strong theoretical and applied statistical knowledge

  • Proven ability to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly

  • Experience with study protocol development and statistical inference


Preferred Skills:

  • Strong computational and data visualization skills

  • Knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and their applications in clinical settings

  • Familiarity with multiple study designs and publication processes


Organizational Interaction:

The role involves active collaboration with departments including Clinical, Medical, Regulatory, Clinical Pharmacology, Commercial Strategy, Outcomes Research, Data Management, and external partners.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $135100 – $225100/year

  • Bonus: Targeted at 17.5% of base salary
