White & Case LLP, an elite global law firm with over 47 locations worldwide, is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel (AGC) to join its Office of the General Counsel in New York. This position is ideal for a highly skilled legal professional who thrives in a dynamic, global legal environment and has demonstrated expertise in litigation, investigations, and legal risk management—particularly around emerging technologies like GenAI and cybersecurity.

As an AGC focusing on Claims and Investigations, you will collaborate closely with senior partners and legal leadership to proactively manage and mitigate legal risks in the Americas, while contributing to global compliance and governance initiatives. This high-impact role plays a pivotal part in overseeing legal claims, coordinating investigations, and partnering with internal teams on risk assessment, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of firmwide risk policies and training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the management of professional negligence claims, regulatory investigations, employment-related matters, and subpoenas primarily within the Americas.

• Liaise with Practice Technology and Global Technology teams to assess risks associated with emerging technologies, including Generative AI and cybersecurity.

• Advise firm leadership on cybersecurity threat preparedness and mitigation strategies.

• Oversee and guide litigation strategy in collaboration with external counsel, including document review, pleadings, updates, and cost control.

• Drive firmwide risk management initiatives and compliance training for lawyers and business professionals.

• Engage in responsible business governance efforts and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

• Upskill and mentor internal legal team members on risk management, investigations, and emerging legal challenges.

• Cultivate strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders and maintain a high level of legal support responsiveness and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

• JD degree from an accredited institution with strong academic credentials.

• Admitted to the New York State Bar with an active practicing certificate.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in litigation or working within a major law firm's Office of General Counsel.

• Demonstrated experience or familiarity with:

  • GenAI and technology-related legal risks

  • Cybersecurity legal issues and data protection

  • Professional liability and negligence claims

  • Regulatory or internal investigations

• High-level communication and interpersonal skills with cross-cultural sensitivity and discretion.

• Strategic, solution-oriented thinker with the ability to drive global initiatives and handle high-stakes legal matters.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary Range: USD 150,000 – 272,200 per year (Approx. USD 12,500 – 22,683 per month)
