Associate Private Practice Employment

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in private practice since 2004 and am looking to hire an Associate to supervise.This is a fully remote employment. You will benefit from my years of experience as a successful therapist in private practice. Over time, I have supervised more than twenty Associates and most have gone on to develop their own successful practices. You can read more about my practice at my website, loriconroy.com.The pay for Associates usually starts at $40 to $100 per Client hour and is based on 50 percent of the Client Fees collected.

I’m looking for someone who wants to specialize in Couples Therapy in addition to Individuals. The emphasis being on helping people in their relationships. This placement is for a unique person who wants to take the time to grow into the best therapist they can be. Someone who values being mentored by a seasoned successful therapist. Someone who wants to be valued as an Associate and receive higher pay per client than what agencies, and corporations pay. Someone who wants to learn private practice early and plans to make it a lifetime endeavor to be an independent business owner. It is not for someone who wants an easy way to collect hours, there are plenty of agencies and corporations ready to hire for a cookie cutter positions. Rather this is a rare opportunity that does not come along often.

I provide my Associates with the following services:

• I provide weekly, scheduled supervision sessions.
• I provide ongoing training as part of supervision on various clinical, therapeutic and practical/business topics so that when you are licensed you are prepared to start your own private practice (I teach skills not typically covered in most counseling Masters Degree programs.)
• I provide access via phone or text between supervision sessions for questions or issues as they arise.
• I provide billing services for all the clients you see.
• All associates are paid monthly as part-time employees with appropriate payroll taxes withheld.

Applicant requirements:

• You must have completed your Masters Degree program and be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and either have your number or have applied with the BBS and are awaiting your number.
• You must be self-motivated to market yourself and acquire and retain your own clients, though I do occasionally provide referrals from my growing practice and will assist you with practical assistance, promotion and marketing. It is beneficial if you have clients you want to bring from another placement. If they are low paying, we can work something out.
• You must be willing to purchase malpractice insurance at your own expense and have it in place by the start of employment.
