Description:

We’re currently seeking a highly experienced Automation System Administrator for a long-term role based in Rensselaer, New York. This exciting position supports automation systems in tightly regulated pharmaceutical, medical device, and life sciences environments, ensuring robust compliance and system reliability across manufacturing and laboratory operations.

The Automation System Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day management, configuration, and support of cutting-edge control systems critical to regulated processes. This includes ensuring system security, backup integrity, and alignment with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about automation, validation, and system lifecycle management, with a deep understanding of FDA-regulated environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and manage secure user access across various automation and control systems

  • Perform and oversee data backup and recovery processes

  • Develop and maintain cGMP-compliant software configurations

  • Support system testing, validation, and qualification activities

  • Provide hands-on automation support for Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Facilities departments

  • Participate actively in investigations, CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and risk assessments

  • Ensure documentation and procedures align with industry and regulatory standards


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • ✅ Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry

  • ✅ Strong hands-on knowledge of automation systems, including configuration and validation

  • ✅ Proven track record in system lifecycle support within a regulated cGMP environment

  • ✅ Capable of working independently with minimal supervision in compliance-focused settings

  • ✅ Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
