Backend Software Engineer

STAND 8 Technology Consulting is seeking a Backend Go Engineer to join its technology team, with a focus on building scalable, high-performance cloud-based media delivery pipelines. This role blends backend engineering expertise with digital video streaming technologies, contributing to premium live and linear video experiences for end users.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing streaming workflows, ensuring low latency and high-quality output. This involves working with AWS cloud infrastructure, containerization tools, and distributed systems architecture, while also supporting live events and ongoing channel operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and maintain live and linear video streaming pipelines using in-house and third-party tools.

• Optimize video encoding, packaging, and delivery for performance and reliability.

• Provide technical support for live events and continuous channel operations.

• Collaborate with Product Owners to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Manage cloud-based content delivery infrastructure (AWS).

• Participate in Agile development processes, improve workflows, deployment practices, and overall system performance.

• Contribute to system architecture discussions and adopt best practices in distributed systems and CI/CD deployment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 3+ years of software development experience with proficiency in GoLang; experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, or similar is a plus.

• Experience with real-time, low-latency, large-scale distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture patterns.

• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Agile/Scrum.

• Comfortable with open-source technologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in digital video workflows and operations.

• Knowledge of streaming protocols (DASH, CMAF, HLS).

• Understanding of server-side ad insertion (SSAI), transcoding, and packaging workflows.

• Familiarity with OTT video delivery pipelines (video ingest, encoding, encryption, DRM, networking fundamentals).
