Bike Centre Facilitator

Description:

Regenesis seeks a motivated Bike Centre Facilitator to support its cycling initiatives through space management, public programming, and community engagement across multiple campuses.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain safe, clean, and organized bike centre spaces

• Conduct and oversee bike repair sessions, mentoring DIY repairs

• Manage inventory, order parts, and keep repair and maintenance records

• Support multiple bike centres with travel between York University and TMU

• Educate the public through workshops, tutorials, and safety sessions

• Plan and lead community rides and engagement events

• Serve as a knowledgeable resource promoting cycling for health and sustainability

• Develop promotional materials and collaborate with communications

• Supervise and mentor volunteers or student staff (up to 10)

• Collaborate with the Regenesis team to meet program goals

Qualifications:

• Hands-on bike mechanic skills (modern and vintage bikes)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to educate and inspire

• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team

• Good organizational skills and record-keeping

• Flexibility to commute between campuses and work occasional weekends/evenings

• Passion for cycling, sustainability, and community engagement

Assets (Not Mandatory):

• Prior experience in bike centres or repair shops

• Bike mechanic certification

• Experience organizing public events/workshops

• Knowledge of cycling advocacy and safety

Work Environment:

• Fully in-person role requiring physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods

• Must be able to commute between campuses as needed
