Brainlab, a global leader in digital surgery, radiotherapy, and integrated operating room technologies, is hiring a Biomedical Engineer (Regional Clinical Specialist) to support healthcare providers with advanced surgical navigation and imaging solutions. The Regional Clinical Specialist plays a vital role in supporting hospitals and physicians by ensuring optimal use of Brainlab’s Image Guided Surgery (IGS) systems and related technologies. This role combines technical expertise, clinical knowledge, customer relationship management, and product training to drive successful adoption and satisfaction among medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site consulting and surgical case support for physicians and operating room staff, guiding product usage during surgeries to maximize outcomes.
Manage and maintain installed systems, including third-party integrations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve product issues using technical expertise, documentation, and Salesforce tracking.
Collaborate in the quality improvement process, recommending product modifications and enhancements.
Deliver clinical case coverage and Go Live support for new product launches and complex surgical cases.
Educate and train a wide range of hospital staff including surgeons, radiologists, OR staff, biomedical engineers, IT teams, and sterile processing personnel.
Develop training programs that enable hospitals to conduct effective in-house training independently.
Act as a primary customer liaison, ensuring satisfaction, evaluating usage levels, and providing recommendations for optimization.
Support commercial teams by identifying opportunities for upgrades, spare parts, contract renewals, and product expansions.
Collaborate with Application Consultants, Account Managers, Marketing, and R&D to advance market initiatives, demonstrations, and product development.
Represent Brainlab at industry meetings and trade shows, promoting IGS solutions and engaging with medical professionals.
Stay updated on Brainlab and competitor products, industry trends, and best practices.
Document all activities and working hours in Salesforce, ensuring full transparency.
Maintain annual product certification competency through continuing education and training.
Travel requirement: 50%+ during the first 6 months.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Clinical Engineering, or Nursing.
1–3 years of technical support experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical device company.
1–2 years of sales experience in healthcare preferred.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology (preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC software applications.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of independent decision-making.
