Provide Design Leadership
- Deliver design excellence and strategic thinking to ensure we are creating effective packaging to drive our brands forward and make connection with consumers
- Partner with marketing, I&S, promotions, licensing, and merchandising to ensure brand continuity across all brand activations, touchpoints, retail channels.
- Support Design Lead as needed on strategic business priorities.
Manage and Design internal workstreams
- Manage traffic workflow to ensure appropriate coverage; guide internal team and external contractors to find the most effective design solutions, ensure delivery of projects on time and meeting expectations of the brief.
- Actively design as available to elevate strategic design thinking on internal workstreams and deliver savings commitment back to the business.
- Advise marketing on briefs and timelines, providing design feedback, implementing the design process, etc.
Drive stewardship and implementation of Design Process
- Provide governance and adherence to design process to drive efficiency (quality of briefs, roles & responsibilities, timelines, decision rights, budgeting process, etc.)
- Apply a ‘Make it Better Mindset’ in which optimization recommendations are important to ensure we are efficient, and the process is evolving for our needs.
Design Budget Management
- Support Design Lead in management of annual budgeting process; partnering with Marketing team to identify project forecast and determining allocation of projects across internal and external design teams.
- Manage internal resources closely and maximizing our design investment and cost savings. Track internal design projects to ensure team is meeting cost savings target.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor’s degree and related work experience in brand strategy, graphic design.
- Current or previous agency experience required. Client-side experience a plus.
- CPG experience required, with packaging design & strategy examples, and an understanding of print production.
- Proven track record of leading design strategy, packaging design and touchpoint activation that drives impact and in market results.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to collaborate with others and inspire teams in a creative environment.
- The ability to be flexible in a rapid-pace, changing environment. Ability to make changes on the fly without losing momentum.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high quality solutions. Ensuring success all the way through the last mile.
- Software fluency in the latest graphics and business programs: Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) and Microsoft (Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
