TalentAlly, on behalf of Capital One, is hiring a Senior Associate, Business Analyst – Climate & Geopolitical Risk to support its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function. This hybrid role based in Richmond, VA, offers a dynamic opportunity for professionals interested in blending strategic analytics with cutting-edge climate and geopolitical risk governance in the financial sector.

As part of a newly formed and cross-functional team within Capital One, the successful candidate will help shape, implement, and evolve risk capabilities that assess the effects of climate change and global geopolitical developments on business strategy and operations. This individual will collaborate with experts across analytics, data science, product management, and risk governance to build tools and deliver insight that informs key business decisions at the highest levels.

The position will report directly to the Head of Climate & Geopolitical Risk Management, offering exposure to senior leadership and strategic risk frameworks across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead initiatives to develop and mature climate risk analytics and geopolitical monitoring tools across the enterprise.

• Design comprehensive reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders including executives, the Board of Directors, and regulators.

• Develop and contribute to scenario planning for geopolitical and climate-related risk events.

• Perform ad hoc analyses to assess impacts across business lines and time horizons (immediate to long-term).

• Identify gaps in existing data infrastructure and contribute to initiatives aimed at acquiring or enhancing relevant data sources.

• Support external climate-related disclosures such as 10-K filings and climate reports.

General Responsibilities:

• Apply quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify business challenges and inform strategic recommendations.

• Collaborate with departments including IT, Operations, Finance, and Sales to enhance organizational risk preparedness.

• Exhibit strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to both strategic thinking and detail.

• Maintain a results-oriented approach in a fast-paced, innovation-driven work culture.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, etc.)

• At least 1 year of professional experience in analysis or related functions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Math, Statistics, or Engineering

• 2+ years of experience in business analysis

• 1+ year experience with SQL querying, market research, statistical model building, or consulting

Compensation and Benefits:

• Annual base salary in Richmond, VA: $99100 – $113100

• Approximate monthly salary: $8258 – $9425
