Business Analyst

 

Description:

Paperclip is seeking a Business Analyst to support the execution and evolution of the Paperclip platform—including content management, data exchange & transmission, AI readiness, and data security—serving financial services and insurance customers in highly regulated environments. 

This is a hands‑on, execution‑oriented role with a focus on clarifying business needs, documenting requirements, and enabling delivery teams to build scalable, secure, and compliant platform capabilities. The Business Analyst will work closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Security, and Operations to translate real‑world customer workflows into clear, testable requirements. 

Primary Responsibilities

Platform & Product Requirements

  • Elicit, analyze, and document requirements related to all Paperclip products and features:  
  • Content intake, management, exchange, and tracking  
  • Various documents (and other unstructured data sources) to data transformation and automation  
  • AI readiness, data agility and movement 
  • Data security, encryption‑in‑use, and audit requirements  
  • Translate business and operational needs into:  
  • Functional requirements 
  • User stories and acceptance criteria 
  • Non‑functional requirements (security, compliance, performance) 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Partner with Product Team to refine scope and priorities 
  • Work directly with:  
  • Operations teams to understand real processing workflows 
  • Compliance teams to incorporate regulatory and audit needs 
  • Security teams to align requirements with zero‑trust principles 
  • Facilitate working sessions to drive shared understanding and alignment 
  • Synthesize Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback into actionable requirements to drive continuous improvement in the customer experience 

Delivery Enablement 

  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness 
  • Clarify requirements for Engineering throughout the delivery lifecycle 
  • Validate delivered functionality against documented requirements 
  • Identify gaps, edge cases, and downstream impacts early 

Regulatory & Domain Awareness 

  • Ensure requirements reflect financial services and insurance obligations, including:  
  • Data privacy (PII, PHI, NPI) 
  • Retention and auditability 
  • Secure third‑party exchange 
  • Identify how regulatory or customer policy changes may affect platform workflows 

Process & Documentation Discipline 

  • Maintain clear, organized documentation that can be reused across teams 
  • Contribute to improving requirements, templates, standards, and hygiene 
  • Help reduce ambiguity, rework, and delivery friction 

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role 
  • Experience supporting technology platforms in financial services or insurance 
  • Strong experience with:  
  • Requirements gathering and documentation 
  • Workflow and process analysis 
  • User stories and acceptance criteria 
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
