Business Growth Manager will develop and close pipeline and engage with ecosystem partners both in and outside of Itron’s traditional channels. For utilities, the role will be responsible for accessing different parts of the utility buying center selling our growth initiatives. The role will tie disparate positions together selling creating the value proposition our solutions deliver. Responsible for accessing new channels which will create relationships leading to multiple end customer projects. This role will also be responsible for new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory/product line delivering revenue and pipeline.

A highly skilled solution sales specialist with a full understanding of area of specialization within the sales and sales-related functions. Works independently and applies industry practices and solutions to creatively resolve sales, revenue, profitability, customer success and/or go-to-market issues or deliver outcomes having a wide and diverse scope impacting the sales or sales related function(s). Plan and deliver complex activities that may significantly impact sales and business or customer operations. Practices good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contributes to organizational objectives related to sales, revenue growth, profitability, and customer success measurements with short-term goals. Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment. Expertise in one or more specialty.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop pipeline and engage with ecosystem partners both in and outside of Itron traditional channels, while closing deals to achieve the revenue and bookings quota targets.
  • Access new channels, including city agencies focused on EV (transit agencies, planners, and program managers), de-regulated utilities, and infrastructure players.
  • Responsible for accessing different parts of the utility buying center related to Distributed Energy Management and EV operations, including grid planners and grid modernization.
  • Understanding of solution selling strategies
  • Collaborate with Product team and execute on Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, marketing campaigns, to assist with sales efforts to make the product relevant to the specific market segments.
  • Demonstrate industry thought leadership by developing collateral, presenting at trade events, speaking industry working groups, conferences, symposiums and on-line events.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% post Covid.

Qualifications/Education

  • 5+ years of experience with a proven track record of success in complex solutions sales or business development and should have experience & understanding of electrical grid impacts related to Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and can provide solutions related to the same.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communications skills and expertise in presenting information in easily understood concepts.
  • Strong customer-advocacy skills and a natural ability to form customer relationships quickly and consistently.
  • Success selling complex network solutions and enterprise software solutions.
  • Experience leading complex commercial deals with legal and finance.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
