What You'll Be Doing:
As the Vice President (VP) of Business Development, you will lead Buckland's growth strategy by identifying, cultivating, and expanding new business opportunities. Your role will focus on increasing market share, building strategic partnerships, and improving the customer experience, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and vision. Working closely with senior leadership, you will drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and market positioning in North America.

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Experience and Retention:

    • Ensure exceptional customer service, aiming for high satisfaction and retention.

    • Develop policies and procedures to streamline customer support.

    • Implement systems to capture and act on customer feedback to improve service offerings.

  2. Sales Strategy and Market Expansion:

    • Create and execute comprehensive sales, marketing plans, and pricing strategies to exceed company targets.

    • Collaborate with leadership to align business development initiatives and strengthen relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

    • Oversee the Requests for Quotation (RFQs) process for timely, accurate submissions.

  3. Operational Efficiency & Innovation:

    • Review and optimize department performance metrics and key indicators.

    • Oversee the business development budget and provide monthly reports to senior leadership.

    • Optimize CRM workflows for unified customer relationship management.

  4. Marketing:

    • Enhance brand recognition through strong market presence and campaigns.

    • Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry changes.

    • Leverage digital channels to increase brand visibility and generate leads.

What We Need From You:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (Postgraduate or professional designation required).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role, ideally in the Customs Brokerage or Logistics sectors.

  • Proven sales and service experience in service-based industries.

  • Strong understanding of sales, service, and marketing principles.

  • Direct experience with CRM systems and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Flexibility to travel approximately 50% of the time.

  • Legally eligible to work for the company at all times.
