Pathway Impact is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and results-oriented Business Development & Engagement Strategist to spearhead the launch and positioning of our new inbound study abroad programs. These programs will target universities, high schools, and mission-driven institutions across diverse regions, including North America, Europe, and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in developing strategic partnerships and laying the operational groundwork for an emerging provider, as we prepare to welcome our first student groups to Uganda.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive partnership engagement strategy to identify, approach, and secure institutional collaborations.
- Lead the design and packaging of customizable program offerings tailored to diverse academic, career, and field-based experiences.
- Advise on and establish robust onboarding procedures, health and safety protocols, risk management manuals, and emergency response plans in line with established study abroad best practices.
- Support research and ensure compliance with legal, liability, insurance, and travel requirements for inbound students.
- Draft, review, and refine service provider contracts, data sharing agreements, and internal policy documentation.
- Contribute to strategic marketing initiatives, including brand development, digital marketing campaigns, and targeted social media engagement.
- Drive lead generation by coordinating on-the-ground engagement activities, including scheduling and facilitating calls, office visits, webinars, and meetings with new and prospective partners.
- Organize and actively participate in study abroad events and presentations; represent the organization at relevant conferences and industry forums as needed.
- Develop and implement tools to track, nurture, and sustain partner relationships.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (international education, marketing, business, etc.)
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in international education, student mobility, or study abroad programming, preferably in business development or partnership engagement roles
- Proven track record of successful lead generation and relationship management with institutions or education partners
- Solid understanding of study abroad operational frameworks including health & safety, risk management, evaluation, and logistics
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and intercultural skills
- Familiarity with East Africa or emerging study abroad destinations is a plus
- Flexible and self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively
