Business Development Manager

 

Description:

A multi-million world leader in power systems is looking for a Business Development Manager for aerospace, military, defense and high-end industrial applications, to be promoted to Business Unit Manager. As a Business Development Manager fast-track and evolve into senior management, within 6 months you would take over as Business Unit Manager, the role eventually progresses to VP level.

 

Job Summary of the Business Development Manager:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and defense contractors globally
  • Develop strategic relationships with aerospace and defense industry stakeholders
  • Work closely with engineering teams to align technical solutions with customer requirements
  • Lead customer engagements, proposal development, contract negotiations, and bid strategies Analyze market trends and competitor offerings in the electric propulsion segment
  • Represent the company during customer visits as well as global aerospace and defense exhibitions and industry events
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and growth targets
  • Other Duties as assigned by Vice President of Sales and Marketing

 

Qualifications of the Business Development Manager:

  • 6–9 years of experience
  • Exposure to managing or reading a P&L is a plus. MBA is not required but appreciated
  • Experience in adjacent markets (e.g., medical, automotive) acceptable if technically relevant (e.g., electric motors)
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel
  • Strong analytical skills to compile data into useful information and interpret
