Brunswick Corporation, a global leader in the marine industry, is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (BDM) to join its Mercury Marine division. Based in the Southeast United States, primarily Florida, the BDM will play a key role in driving sales, fostering long-term relationships with independent boatbuilder partners, and expanding Mercury’s market presence. Reporting directly to the Regional Business Director, the BDM will be responsible for developing strategies to manage existing accounts, generate new business opportunities, and increase market share and profitability. The position demands a highly motivated, customer-focused professional who excels at relationship-building, consultative selling, and exceeding sales goals in a competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with Mercury Marine independent boatbuilder partners and identify new growth opportunities.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, coach, and consultant to partners, ensuring measurable sales and performance improvements.

  • Serve as the market expert, gathering intelligence on customers, competitors, and industry trends.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies, training initiatives, and promotional tactics tailored to partner needs.

  • Represent Mercury Marine at regional and national boat shows, dealer events, and other industry functions.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with inside sales, service, credit, and other teams to achieve territory objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with Mercury corporate policies and procedures while meeting revenue and profitability goals.

  • Travel extensively (minimum 50% overnight) across the assigned territory; weekend work may be required for events and shows.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related field.

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or within the marine/recreational industry.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and remote business tools.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively (50% overnight).

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent overnight travel required (50%+).
