Business Development Manager

 

Description:

Enthalpy Analytical is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their growing sales team. Enthalpy Analytical is a national network of accredited environmental laboratories delivering high-quality testing support, regulatory expertise, and innovative scientific solutions to diverse industries including environmental consulting, government agencies, petrochemical and energy, waste management, and industrial manufacturing.

This role focuses on B2B sales in Colorado and surrounding areas (WY, KS), supporting the Denver, CO laboratory.


Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect, pursue, and qualify new business leads.

  • Assist clients in navigating complex environmental regulations and develop testing programs via a consultative sales approach.

  • Cultivate existing relationships and develop strategies to grow key accounts.

  • Manage leads and accounts to achieve sales goals and close new business.

  • Maintain disciplined sales administration, including strategic account plans, forecasts, analytics, and CRM (Salesforce) usage.

  • Travel up to 50% for client visits, territory development, and conferences/trade shows.

  • Collaborate with Enthalpy laboratory network and Subject Matter Experts to develop client solutions.

  • Facilitate quote/proposal/RFP production from initial contact through purchase order.

  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity, providing insights internally.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and sharing results with leadership.

  • Participate in thought leadership marketing activities such as webinars, blog posts, and white papers.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience in environmental sales and business development.

  • Technical background or degree preferred.

  • Strong communication, client engagement, and relationship-building skills.

  • Curious, courageous, empathetic, and resilient in high-paced environments.

  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration and mentorship skills.

  • Self-starter with exceptional time management and ability to work remotely.

  • Positive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges and take initiative.

  • Meet the Enthalpy/Montrose team and participate in onboarding.

  • Learn services through client and laboratory visits.

  • Engage in monthly Sales Skills Development program with peers.

  • Build familiarity with CRM and company sales processes.

  • Begin working with a predetermined client set.
