Business Development Representative

 

Description:

The Business Development Representative builds relationships and trust with current customers by generating new revenue opportunities and programs, servicing the account, and providing value-added support. Also, the BDR identifies and qualifies new business prospects and leads for the company.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in the produce wholesale and retail industry. Along with all other tasks assigned, you will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, handle customer-related issues to ensure satisfaction, develop customer programs, and seek new business. Occasionally, you will be needed to complete duties in the office and over the phone. However, field work is expected and needed. If you are motivated and results-driven, and enjoy working in a team environment, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you are responsible for boosting sales and contributing to our long-term business growth.

The BDR must connect with prospects via phone, email, and face-to-face. The BDR must understand how to build a rapport with prospects to qualify them for new business, while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Advises customer on local, seasonal, and new product
  • Projects daily enthusiasm on company efforts, items, and industry topics
  • Qualifies leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Designs and markets on social media
  • Designs guides for team members and customers
  • Contacts potential clients through cold calls and emails
  • Presents our company to potential clients
  • Identifies client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Customizes product solutions to increase customer satisfaction
  • Builds long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Proactively seeks new business opportunities in the market
  • Keys orders into the CRM and order system

Requirements:

  • Good hygiene, business casual attire, and maintaining a professional appearance at all times
  • Knowledge of the wholesale and distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (examples: customers, coworkers, and warehouse)
  • Heavy data entry and order taking (quickly and accurately)
  • Must be a morning person (early shifts and weekends will be expected)
  • Calling/meeting customers
  • Be detail-oriented, organized, and neat
  • Possess a high school degree or GED
  • Speak fluently in English; Bl-LINGUAL A POSITIVE AND HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Maintain a positive attitude, professional appearance, and excellent hygiene
  • Must have a clean background check and pass a drug/alcohol screening upon hire and random
